Why do people discriminate based on race? We all borrow our bodies from God; our soul or consciousness inhabits this temporary dwelling, which God has provided. We could have been born black, brown, red, yellow, or white. Why do we judge based on appearance. It is like judging someone by what brand of car they drive.
Race gives one identity, a relationship, and a common bond that is derived from ancestry. It is understandable that we are closer to our siblings and our parents. It is also understandable that we tend to be more comfortable with people of the same race, or same ancestry. Blood is thicker than water; or family is more important than others. But in the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki), God tells us to go back to the “Origin” or the beginning of mankind. We find that we are all God’s children; we are all family. God lends us our bodies, whether it is black, white, or any shade between. Our souls or consciousness are all family, derived from the same parents at the beginning of mankind. Yet there are many who look at our temporary dwellings, and discriminate based on appearance.
